Fund your Maker's Capacity Address

What is a capacity wallet and how to fund it in order to start fulfilling swaps

What is a Capacity Address?

A capacity address is a 2 of 2 multi-sig bitcoin wallet address assigned to each maker. Faa.st regularly monitors the balance of each maker's capacity wallet, and when an increase in balance is detected, a sweep transaction is created that will only be broadcast in the case that a maker misbehaves and does not fulfill a swap.

The balance of the capacity address determines the total value of swaps a maker can fulfill at anyone time.

For example, if you deposit 1 BTC to your capacity address and a swap worth 1.5 BTC needs to be fulfilled, then your maker will not be selected. However, if there are 4 swaps worth .25 BTC each, then your maker could fulfill all 4 of them at once.

How to fund your capacity address

To fund your capacity address you just need to deposit BTC to the capacity address provided to you on the market maker dashboard.
